You've already shown more interest in me than my "second" wife did. Let me begin by sharing a little more about my journey, how it all got started, who I am, and what lights my fire.
For starters, my name is Jesse Looper---just in case jesselooper.com, you know, the site you're on now, or if the barrage of cheeky references on my homepage didn't quite tip you off.
And since it seems you've got plenty of time on your hands (I mean, you've made it this far), let's go over all the fun possibilities of names I go by.
Hmmm, let's see---the two beings who mean the most in my life---they call me padre. It's a title I cherish, considering most of my family doesn't call me at all---wretched soul, I know.
The rest of you, you can just call me Coach Jesse. I need the ego boost. Unless you're paying me an outlandish amount of money of course, then you can call me Looper or whatever the Hell you want.
Oh, I almost forgot, there is literally a handful of you, and I'm talking a small six-year-old hand, that knows me only by my acting name, Jesse Taylor. And if you happen to be one of the lucky devils, then make it easy on all of us and just call me Jesse---crazy thought, I know!
Anywho, now that we got that chore out of the way let's dig deeper about the guy, whose name is on the site---Moi!
My fitness flame first got lit in high school in Weightlifting 101 Class, and it's been a full-blown bonfire ever since. I went through the university grind a few times for way too many years, nailed some official papers down to make me all legit, and eventually, did the whole personal training gig and finally got hooked on the science nerd stuff—and let me tell you, it's not about how many years you've been at it. It's about digging deep and really understanding this stuff.
And hey, I've had my ups and downs, for real. There was a time when life kinda steamrolled me when I packed on 100 pounds of mostly fat, we lived on BOGO Big Macs and Whoppers, microwave burritos, canned soups, and hot dog water--- I shit you not!
Took me roughly eight challenging years to see the light again, but with an amazing wife and best mate by my side (yeah, I screwed that one up years later...just ask my therapist) I clawed my way back in under 9 months, losing a total of 96 pounds.
And despite the many advancements in science and research in the past 20+ years many of the same foundational elements of training I used then to transform my body, still hold true today.
As a dad to two kickass college-age kids---crazy I know seeing that I'm only 29 years old living in some apparent perpetual time loop---along with being a relatively small-time media personality, and navigating the ever-so-evolving world of fitness at a high-level as a hybrid-based coach, researcher, and writer---and yeah, a little mediocre acting side-hustle--I keep pretty damn busy.
What keeps my fire burning is the unyielding drive to help people in their relentless pursuit of achieving a higher level of health and fitness.
As a high-performer myself, my bustling lifestyle has not only taught me the value of efficiency but has also bestowed upon me the unique insight to meticulously design fitness programs tailored to maximize the outcome for the exceptionally busy yet ambitious executive. This unique vantage point enables me to emphasize deeply the challenges they face, guiding my philosophy to be truly people-driven and outcome-focused.
Sometime between getting morbidly obese and living out my passion for fitness science nerd shit I snagged myself degrees in Exercise & Nutrition Science. My best mate back in the day claims I won the academic degrees off some drunk guy on a ship headed to what use to be Ellis Island in ‘01---1901; You know the place where your great-great grandpa probably stepped off the boat and first kissed the ground.
I'll be honest though, I don’t recall much from that voyage. But yeah apparently I play a mean game of high-stakes Go Fish.
Alright....
So maybe 1901 is a little off kilter but that would’ve made for one kickass story---Oh Hell, let's just go with it!
Anyway, after all these years I’ve been unloading this crazy blend of wicked science and coaching onto high-achievers with jam-packed lives. Getting them healthy, keeping them buzzing with natural LSD (metaphorically speaking of course as I do NOT condone drugs of any kind in my world) ---and in many cases---making them look like they’ve been chiseled straight out of freakin’ Gibraltar.
I mean at the end of the day, when you’re worth a million bucks, you wanna look and feel like a million bucks too!
And since my first personal training business, Looper Fitness, starting back in 2006, I've been all about diving deep into the science stuff while busting myths left, right, and center.
My goal, my mission, my life ambition? ( I love a nice cheesy rhyme)
