Hey, first off—much appreciation for making it this far! You’ve already shown more love than my “second” wife did (and that’s a story for another day).
Let me introduce myself, tell you how this all got started, and explain what lights my fire—spoiler alert: it’s fitness, not hot dog water (we’ll get to that).
Who Am I?
Well, for starters, I took the liberty of naming JesseLooper.com after me—shocking, I know. Just in case my barrage of cheeky references on the homepage didn’t give that away.
My two favorite humans on this 5th-largest planet in the solar system call me Padre—a title I hold dear, especially considering most of my extended family just calls me… nothing.
In the acting world, I’m a small pebble known as Jesse Taylor, recognized by a handful of you with an impressive memory for faces and posterior chains for commercials or made-for-TV movies.
My claim to fame? A small, last-minute role as a 12-year-old in Hoosiers—one of the greatest sports films of all time, filmed in 1985. So yeah, I'm aging myself here. But hey, they say there are no small parts, only small actors... and I definitely had a small part! Lol.
How Fitness Took Over My Life
My fitness flame (callback to my cheesy metaphor—you’re welcome) was first lit in high school Weightlifting 101 and has been a full-blown bonfire ever since.
I went through the university grind a few times—way too many, actually. Eventually, I nailed down my first B.S. (as in Bachelor of Science, not the other kind) in Exercise & Nutrition Science, leading me to start my personal training career in 2008. It didn’t take long before I got hooked on the science nerd stuff.
But before I became the evidence-based coach you see today, life steamrolled me back in the mid 90's. I packed on 100 pounds of mostly fat, thanks to a poor man college diet of BOGO Big Macs, microwave burritos, canned soup, and hot dog water.
I went from a ripped 170-pound 21-year-old with competitive bodybuilding aspirations to a 267-pound “well-fed” 24-year-old Pillsbury Doughboy. I was one cheesecake dessert tray away from Oompa Loompas rolling me into the cardiologist’s office.
I was a 24-newlywed to a beautiful 20-year-old when it all began to fall apart for me. And before you read too much into it, it had nothing to do with my wife lol.
See, I was waging an uphill battle with genetics, armed with nothing but hope and Minoxidil, desperately trying to outrun the family curse—baldness. Meanwhile, my wife and I were juggling university classes, paying bills, and doing our best to keep our heads above water.
But quitting one job for what I thought was a much better opportunity, only to lose that job a few months later—didn't exactly help our situation. That led me to the unemployment line, stuck in a relentless cycle of 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' just to dodge bank overdraft fees and keep a roof over our heads. No wonder I was losing my hair and packing on weight—stress was hitting hard for a young married couple. And then the BIG Y2K happened.
That was when our first born, Grant, came into our lives and turned my world upside down—in the best way possible. That was also the year I finally was rewarded with my first B.S. degree.
It took me eight years to get my act together, but with an amazing wife and best mate by my side (yeah, I screwed that one up later… just ask my therapist), and the birth of our son as motivation, I dropped 96 pounds in under nine months—while building muscle and redefining my approach to fitness. Today, we call this method body recomposition training—but back then, I just called it “get your sh*t together, Jesse.”
What I Do Now
As a dad to two kickass college kids (crazy, considering I’m only 29 and stuck in a time loop), a research nerd, and a coach, I spend my time deep in the science, so you don’t have to.
I break down complex fitness research into practical, no-BS strategies that actually work (without the fluff, though some bro-science has its place).
I also side-hustle as a mediocre actor, so my plate is full—but damn, I love every minute of it.
My Coaching Philosophy
So, what keeps my fire burning all these years later?
The drive to help people transform the way they look and feel. I’ve been there, so I know the grind. That’s why I created my client-centered approach called Keep It Simple & Sustainable—cutting through the constant noise and cookie-cutter fitness nonsense to focus on what actually works.
Over the years, my busy-ass lifestyle has taught me the value of efficiency. That’s why I develop minimalist training programs for C-level executives, coffee-fueled professionals, and time-crunched clients who want maximum results without living in the gym.
Now, I won’t say my minimalist training methods are Nobel Prize-worthy—but MacGyver-like? Maybe. (Minus the mullet.)
Fast-forward to today— while my training methods have evolved over the years, my mission remains the same: to help undervalued parents, overloaded students, and time-crunched professionals maximize muscle growth and fat loss in half the time.
Will this make you immortal? Probably not. But hey, do you really want to be around when the Doomsday Asteroid hits?
Why I Do What I Do
Having been there myself, I understand the struggles—which is why I emphasize people-driven, outcome-focused coaching. My mission? To ensure you understand the “why” behind the “how”—so that when we’re done working together, you don’t just get results—you keep them for life.
Somewhere between getting morbidly obese and diving into fitness science, I snagged myself a B.S. in Exercise Science (or won it off a drunk guy on a ship)—depends on who you ask).
Now, with 18 years in the trenches, I’m here to unload this crazy blend of science and coaching onto willing souls.
Is it easy? No.
Is it worth it? Hell yes.
Getting lean, strong, and healthy isn’t magic—but for those willing to put in the work, the results can be damn near miraculous.
After all, when you’re worth a million bucks, you wanna look and feel like a million bucks too.
